As an Ex-uwinker I am very proud of your hard work and success. The new besiness is way different than the things that we used to work on. I am very amazed of your flexibility, change of strategy, and adjustment to market.
My last week lecture for students was about new ventures and the entire lecture was about Nolan and Nancy accomplishments.
I wish you the best of luck.

hopefully there will be video of each distinct “activity zone”.

also, although i understand the enthusiasm being a shareholder myself, it would be nice to see more constructive criticism of uwink as a company and the new restaurant concept. sometimes this blog feels more like a uwink groupie site than a serious discussion of the prospects for this company.
i really do hope that video will soon be available displaying the distinct activity zones in a professional manner and at different times of the day.
i agree that this restaurant concept has potential, however i am receiving very little information thus far on how it’s being executed upon.
further official restaurant reviews should answer these questions i guess.

Let’s open more restaurants. Even if it’s just one more. Or at least announce the next location.

announce the next locatoin??? you kidding. until they prove this pilot restaurant is successful and can generate a profit, how can you can talk about announcing even one more location?

Sagar:
An announcement is due. It is a display of good faith from the management that the restaurant is still determined to achieve agressive growth. uWink said that they wanted 50 stores by 2008, not me. They need to get moving to keep on pace.
…..And at best, Bytes looks like a ghetto, mentally retarded, crackhead version of uWink. Not even comparable.

was just thinking, what if a company like myspace and uwink worked together. meaning on sites like myspace, friendster, you list your friends and they say yes/no to that friend request. what if when people were at say the 6 person game table and they each swiped their uwink cards, later one somehow either through the myspace site or at one of the screens at the uwink tables, it could list the people they played with recently (just names/nicknames - no futher personal details) and they could send a friend request which that could person could choose to accept/deny.
a bit of a strange idea i’m sure that might not work, but since uwink is trying to facilitate 20 and 30 something to interact and meet and uwink, maybe this yet another way to make it easier for people to interact.
so in summary, two parties of 3 sit down together at the 6 person game table. each swipes their uwink card (which i believe it necessary anyways since have to see if person has been buying food/drinks to see if they can still play for free). they talk, drink, play, have fun, etc. some people hit it off a lot, some not soo much etc. later on those people return to a table (or possibly log into the uwink/myspace site at home) it shows a list of people they played with. they can send a friend request which the other person receives next time they come to uwink or on the internet. if the friend request is accepted, then you are added as a friend on myspace and maybe when you come back to uwink it can tell you something about your uwink-myspace friends (i.e joe rated the ribs 5 stars, jane says hello, jill is actually in the restaurant right now at table 4, etc.)
any ideas anyone if this an idea that makes sense or would help people meet at uwink or not?

I would like to go to uWink, unfortunately I haven’t been able to find an address on your website. It really should be on the front page of the website, or… well somewhere obvious.

gotta click on “Contact” twice. yeah sort of strange, when you click on “contact” brings up 2 selections neither of which has the actual address. but if you click it again it does then.
