Hollywood Pays uWink a Visit!
This weekend, the first meals were served out of uWink’s kitchen and Hollywood came to film it!

uWink is definitely located in L.A!
We’ll tell you more once we can, but right now, all we can tell you is that our kitchen is fully functional and that Hollywood paid us a visit!

I stopped by there today. Looks like it is almost ready to go…no more than a few weeks I would say. They were indeed interviewing potential employees today. The site looks like a sleek modern design. The unique items, the electronics, were not yet fully installed. Inside the mall, they are next to Williams Sonoma which should be a pretty high traffic area. There apparently will also be some prominent signage that can be seen from the parking lot or near Maggianos.

Thanks for the update lhn5! Is there a site other than this blog where people are discussing uwink? I think the conversations will get more lively once they open.

I hope they announce the date of the openning soon. It would sure help the stock maintain momentum. Plus I live on the east coast (North Carolina) and I want to book plane tickets to head out there.

I would love to see the photos you have!
As we get closer to opening the Construction progress is less dramatic. Details are fine tuned, polished and finessed. Here’s what’s left:
Tape/finish/Sand dry wall
Paint
Carpet
Furniture
Open
I can guarantee we’ll be open soon!

Since I don’t think this blog is the most efficient (or even appropriate) place to hold discussions, I went searching for a uWink message board. I found one at ragingbull.com (message board = uwnk). There’s only been 7 posts over the past year so there’s not much going on over there but I joined (as mr_vcs) and submitted post #8. I’m hoping a few other people will join (or point me to another message board) so that we can discuss the bistro in more detail.
